Security Check:
- Make sure doors and windows are properly secured and locked
- Make sure security system is operational
- Is there any evidence of forced entry, storm damage or theft
- Remove newspapers, packages and other evidence of non-occupancy from mailbox
- Are appropriate lights on/off and programmable timers are properly set
Interior:
- Check circuit breaker box for signs of surge
- Check faucets and all other plumbing for leaks
- Check that all appliances are on/off and operating normally
- Change supplied A/C and furnace filters
- Check and maintain salt level in water softener
- Inspect for obvious signs of water damage, mold or mildew
- Check for signs of pests or insects
- Inspect chimney for excessive soot
- Replace smoke alarm batteries, if requested
- Check phones for dial tones; reset clocks, if needed
Exterior:
- Inspect roof, gutters, downspouts, decks and patios for excess debris and snow
- Inspect for signs of water leaks, erosion and drainage issues
- Inspect yard, landscaping and irrigation for evidence of regular maintenance or damages
- Inspect pool and/or spa; add chemicals if provided
- Inspect for wildlife or insect damage (as appropriate, based on location and known problems)
- Check for signs of exterior wear and tear (loose or missing shingles, caulking, wood rot on decks, etc.)
If we notice items which need to be fixed or replaced we will contact you and if needed make arrangements for repair work.
